Grooming tips
  • Start with a thoroughly brushed, clean and completely dry coat.
  • Use gentle, consistent pressure, keeping the cutting edge parallel to the skin.
  • Keep strokes smooth and steady; do not rush or press harder if the blade pulls.
  • Clip with the natural direction of growth for an even trim. Clipping against growth produces a closer finish.
  • Use appropriate scissors for precision detailing after clipping, especially with longer lengths.
  • Check blade temperature frequently and allow cooling breaks for your pet's comfort.
Installation & safety
  • If possible, use a blade tool to remove the old cutter and insert the new one.
  • Alternatively, make use of a standard/slotted screwdriver to gently lift the tension spring, just enough to slide the new cutter into place.
  • Cutters are pre-sharpened, so take care to avoid accidental cuts to your hands.

Switch off and unplug the clipper before removing the blade. Keep the cutter aligned and follow the fitting demonstration. If you are unsure, stop and ask VUNRO for help.

Compatibility

Dedicated cutter for #40 or #50 A5 blades. Select the matching blade number.

Standard A5, #40/#50, wide A5, skip-tooth A5 and D-Series cutters are not all interchangeable. A cutter does not change the cutting length of the fixed blade it is fitted to.

Send us your blade details if you would like us to check the match.

Does this include a complete blade?

No. This product is the replacement moving cutter for your #40 / #50 A5 blade assembly, not a complete blade or clipper. Match the option to the blade you already own.

How do I choose the correct replacement cutter?

Dedicated cutter for #40 or #50 A5 blades. Select the matching blade number.

Check the number and system marked on your existing blade, then choose the matching option above. A replacement cutter does not change the cutting length of the fixed blade. If you are unsure, send VUNRO your blade details before ordering.

What are the benefits of this ceramic cutter?

This IvoryEdge / SuperZirconia ceramic replacement cutter provides a hard, sharp moving edge for the matching #40 / #50 A5 blade. Ceramic resists corrosion, but its teeth still need careful handling: avoid drops and impacts, and replace a cutter with chipped or damaged teeth. Keep the complete blade assembly clean and lubricated, and continue checking its temperature during use.

Is the cutter ready to fit?

The cutter is supplied pre-sharpened. Switch off and unplug the clipper, remove the blade and follow the fitting demonstration for #40 / #50 A5. Check alignment before use. If you are unsure about fitting or tension, stop and ask VUNRO or a blade-service specialist for help.

How should I clean and oil the cutter?

With the clipper switched off and unplugged, brush away hair and debris after use. Clean and lubricate the blade assembly according to its care instructions, then dry it before storage. Check blade temperature during grooming and allow cooling breaks when needed.

When should I replace my ceramic cutter?

Replace it if a tooth is chipped, cracked or broken. If cutting deteriorates after cleaning and correct lubrication, have the complete blade assembly checked: the fixed blade, alignment or tension may also need attention. Ask a specialist who works with ceramic cutters before attempting to restore the edge.

What should I check before using the fitted cutter?

Inspect the teeth for damage and check that the cutter is correctly aligned and securely fitted. Do not use a blade with bent, chipped or broken teeth. If the blade is loose, binds or pulls, stop and have it checked rather than applying more pressure.

How should I store the cutter?

Store it clean and dry in a protective case or its packaging, with the teeth protected from knocks. Keep it away from moisture and loose metal tools. Follow the blade assembly's lubrication instructions before storage.

How should I dispose of a damaged cutter?

Securely contain the sharp edges so they cannot injure anyone; do not leave the cutter loose in a bin. Ask your local waste service how to dispose of sharp ceramic parts safely.
